Changes

One of my last posts was about an amazing organization and its most recent fundraiser. On the night of April 24th the main event kicked off... 25 hours of SILENCE. Over 80,000 people across the world took place in this incredible campaign. It was truly such an inspiring event to take place in and I am so grateful that I can be involved with such an incredible organization.

A few weeks ago a team of four came and stayed with my family while on tour for Invisible Children. This team of roadies among many others had been on the road for weeks now trying to spread the word. It was amazing getting to spend time with them and leard more about the organization. I want to share the experience with you all...

The amazing team: Mercy, Tracy, Collines, and Carl

The team presented the movie Tony at my school and it turned out to be a great success.
Between what the team raised and my fundraiser, almost $3000 was raised that day. So many kids wanted to get involved and really support the cause.

Mercy and Collines
Like I said before, this organization is well worth your time. The 25 campaign raised almost $2 million! I really urge everyone to get involved and learn more about Invisible Children. They are doing wonderful things! So please take just a few minutes of your time to visit http://www.invisiblechildren.com/. I can guaruntee you will walk away speechless and encouraged to make a difference.

The Greater Good

I want to use this post to share with everyone some information about a wonderful organization. I recently became involved with a non-profit organization and it has been such an incredibly experience. It changed so much for me and I wanted to give all of you the chance to experience this.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Invisible Children, they are an organization working to stop a man named Joseph Kony and his mass murders and abductions throughout Africa. Over the past 25 years he has been taking children from their homes and forcing them to be child soldiers.

This year Invisible Children has created the 25 Event where thousands of people around the world will be staying silent for a total of 25 hours on April 25th to "speak out" against this 25 year long war. As of right now there are over 27,000 people signed up to take part in this amazing event. If you are interested in signing up to get involved you can go to www.invisiblechildren.com/25

I first learned about Invisible Children over a year ago from a truly inspiring friend. I knew a little about the organization at the time and thought it was great but I never took the time to make a difference and get involved like I should have. I'm now a Senior in high school and the year is coming to an end. I was thinking to myself the other day, "What have I done in high school that has made a difference whether it was to a few or many?"  I wanted to do something big, really get involved in something that I am passionate about. That's when Invisible Children came to mind. I can honestly say that this organization and it's history are awe inspiring. That is why I am doing this 25 page. I truly believe, with all my heart, that Invisible Children is well worth anyone's time.
So please, take a few minutes to check out my 25 Fundraiser page and do what you can.

All Play and No Work

On Wednesdays I volunteer at the church nursery and I can whole heartedly say, it is one of the best parts of my week. The kids are so amazing and inspire me everday I get to be with them! I will be so sad when the nursery closes for the summer. I LOVE watching these little guys grow.
Sam is almost 2 years old and is FULL of energy

Olivia, Sam's sister, is the smartest little girl I have ever come across!

Tyler doesn't have a mean bone in his body! I want to take hime home everyday I'm there!

Olivia is Sam's little protector. I admire the way she looks after him.

It has been so much fun watching them grow up this year. They have all changed so much and really developed their individual personalities! I don't even consider the nursery work because it is so much fun!
They are so cute I just had to share pics!

Colder Weather

It's slowly starting to get warm out side but I have a feeling that spring is still a ways away. Luckily it was nice enough outside for a while that I could get out and take some new pictures. The first art show of the semester is coming up in a few weekends and I can't decide which photos to take to conference.

Early morning sky, looking more and more like Spring!

The Winter frost on trees is my absolute favorite. When I saw this I had to take a picture!

This leaf fell right in front of me when I was on a walk one morning

The cold weather is slowly but surely moving out of here! Its been so nice to be able to catch a few shots of then sun and green grass. I think these my be my last winter shots for the year! Things have been so crazy so this project hasn't quite worked out as planned but it sure has helped. I just had an art show 2 weekends ago and my photography did really well along with some other work too! Hope everyone is enjoying the weather :)
